Sanitation Manager

As the Sanitation Manager, you will lead Landmark Snacks’ sanitation program, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest standards of plant cleanliness and food safety. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and collaboration with various teams to maintain and enhance sanitation practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Sanitation Program Management:

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Master Sanitation Program, including schedules and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) for all in-house cleaning.

      • Supervise cleaning activities to ensure adherence to SSOPs and cleaning schedules, addressing nonconformities through Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)

  • Environmental Monitoring & Risk Management:

    • Collaborate with Landmark Snack’s in-house microbial lab to improve risk-based testing and respond to trends from environmental program testing results.

    • Understand lab practices to perform environmental testing when needed.

    • React promptly to sanitation failures and coordinate intensified cleaning and corrective measures with senior management.

  • Team Supervision & Compliance:

    • Lead the sanitation team in daily sanitation tasks, including general housekeeping around the plant.

    • Verify the correct preparation of cleaning chemicals and adherence to cleaning procedures by all plant teams.

    • Maintain flexibility to work with second and weekend shifts as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2+ years in food sanitation management experience is required and a strong knowledge of industry best practices for food safety and sanitation

  • Understanding of environmental monitoring trending and laboratory functions

  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • USDA experience preferred, but not required

  • Required skills:

    • Ability to lead, instruct, and support sanitation plant wide, ensuring completion with sanitation tasks, while working towards continuous improvements.

    • Communication is vital in this role. The sanitation manager directly reports to the FSQA manager, but is an important support for the operations team. Communication between the departments must be clear and constant.

    • Capability to organize and handle all expected activities, master sanitation scheduling, testing responses, and verification activities
