Assistant Supervisor - Weekend Shift

5:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.; Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Overview
Provides leadership for a team of employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Ready-To-Eat (RTE) department. Ensures the department is implementing and sustaining employee safety, food safety, quality, and performance standards. This position will assist the Weekend Shift Supervisor in identifying deficiencies, providing, implementing, sustaining solutions, and validating that the outcome meets defined standards.
Responsibilities

Assist the Weekend Shift Supervisor in overseeing the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift

Collaborate with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements

Oversee Weekend Shift line workers with an emphasis on teamwork, safety, and excellent practices to produce the highest quality products

Set clear expectations and goals for team members

Monitor employee compliance with operational standards, along with other department and company policies and practices
-
Motivate, support, and provide guidance to production team members
-
Communicate effectively with team members and other management
-
Enforce compliance with company rules, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and fair working environment for plant workers

Monitor and review the daily line performance and make improvements or adjustments as needed

Skills and Qualifications
-
2-4 years of experience as a team lead or similar position

Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery

Understanding of quality standards and food safety regulations

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Ability to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards

Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate

Ability to coach and motivate employees
-
Ability to work in cold environments and on concrete floors
